This is Part II because a
Part I-Post already exists which explains the basic concept and the patterns used. Basically I had a bunch of breed-specific skeins of wool, so I sorted them by value and knitted them up to a blanket. The blanket now contains about 2700m of yarn from a total of seven different breeds. Some of the breeds I have already introduced in the
Part I, some in my
rare-breed tam, so I will not discuss the breeds in too much detail here. However, listed from light to dark, these are the breeds:
- Merino
- Weißes Bergschaf
- Coburger Fuchsschaf
- Merino
- Alpines Steinschaf & Jezersko-Solčava
- Merino
- Pomeranian Coarsewool
- Merino
- Merino
- Schwarzes Bergschaf
The blanket now is an excellent bed-spread and blanket and I love snuggling up under it in the early November frosts.
Formalities:
- Materials: breed-specific yarns (between 200 and 300m/100g),
- Tools: 4.5mm knitting needles with extra long cable, darning need to weave in ends
- Time: probably about 43 hrs
